Two service calls in one week where the keypad placement got blamed for false alarms
Last Tuesday I got a callback from a house I had wired up in Clifton. Customer said the system went off at 3am for no reason. Got there and found the keypad right next to the bedroom door with a motion detector on the same wall. Every time they got up to use the bathroom, the unit saw the heat bloom off the wall and tripped. Then on Friday, another homeowner in the same area complained about the same thing. Same setup, keypad in a hallway corner facing a PIR. I moved both keypads to a spot where the sensor couldn't see the wall bounce, and no more issues. Since then I've started mapping out sensor angles before I drill any keypad mount. Has anyone else had this happen, or do you just put keypads wherever the customer asks and blame the sensor brand?
