Update: I thought glass break sensors were a waste for a house with double panes

A client in Denver insisted on them last month, and we found a shattered back door from a rock thrown by kids. The sensor caught the high frequency before the glass actually fell out. Do you guys push for them on every job now?

Yeah, I started adding them after a similar incident and it's been a total game-changer.

Right, because apparently we all need to learn that lesson the hard way before we actually learn it (story of my life). Nothing says "good planning" like a rock to the face of your not-so-indestructible window.

Well, that's a lesson learned the hard way (and I'm usually the one learning things the hard way). Always figured the double pane was a pretty solid defense, but I guess kids with a good arm and a rock are the ultimate test. Makes you rethink skipping those sensors for sure. Pushing for them sounds smart, even if it feels like overkill at the time.

Notice how we skip the little extras that feel unnecessary until they're not. It happens with everything from phone cases to backup plans. We're all just one stray rock away from needing the thing we decided to skip.
