Wasted $160 on a cellular dialer I did not need
Ngl, I bought a cellular backup dialer for a job in Charlotte last month because the customer insisted on it, then realized their internet line already had a built-in LTE failover. I ended up eating the cost since it was special order and non-returnable. Anyone else get burned by customers demanding gear that overlaps with what they already have?

Man, that sucks. Customers love asking for gear that overlaps with what's already there. I've had people demand a second router when the first one was fine, just because someone at the office read a blog. You basically paid for their lack of checking the spec sheet. Hopefully the next job makes up for it.

Funny how this same thing shows up outside work too, like when I bought a fancy coffee maker only to find the old one had a hidden timer feature I never touched. @ryan_shah38 hit it on the head about people not reading specs, but it's honestly everywhere, from phones with extra lens cameras nobody uses to cars with off-road modes on pavement. Everyone wants the shiny backup plan until they see the bill, then it's your fault for not catching their mistake.
