Wireless sensors finally won me over after that old mansion job

I used to swear by hardwired everything, but last month I had to install 32 sensors in a 1920s brick building near downtown and drilling through all that mortar was a nightmare. The wireless system went in under 4 hours and has been rock solid for 3 weeks now. Has anybody else had a job that forced them to change their mind about a setup they always hated?

Not gonna lie, I was the same way. Always figured wired was the only way to go for anything permanent. But a client had me do their whole retrofit in this old building with plaster walls and no attic access, and I was looking at a week of patching holes. Wireless took me maybe three hours on site and I haven't had a single dropout since. @hall.joel is dead on about that brick wall nightmare - this place had three layers of lath and mortar behind the plaster and I would have been there until Christmas. It's not for every job, but for historic stuff I'm a convert now.
