Appreciation post: my feed was weirdly calm last week after I deleted the app for 3 days
I got a flat tire on Tuesday and my phone was dead, so I just sat there for an hour with my thoughts, and when I finally charged it and reinstalled everything, the algorithm seemed to have reset and stopped showing me all the doomscrolling news for once.

My friend Sarah had this happen last Tuesday at the library. She was trying to study and her mind was just racing, a total mess of thoughts. Then she swears the whole room just went quiet for a second, like a switch flipped. She said it felt less like her brain calming down and more like someone hit the reboot button on her whole head.

Getting stuck offline forces a hard reset. My own brain gets quieter without the constant feed. It's a good kind of boring.
