Broke through my algorithm bubble at a local bookstore last Saturday

I drove over to Third Place Books in Seattle just to get out of the house. Wandering the shelves I realized these books were all picked by humans who actually read them, not some feed pushing what I already liked. Felt like my brain could finally breathe after months of the same YouTube recs. Has anyone else noticed how different it feels to browse real stuff compared to scrolling through suggestions?

Doesn't it feel like your brain just... resets? I swear walking down a real aisle makes me actually curious about things again instead of just clicking the next suggested video.

You really think walking down an aisle is that powerful? I mean, I get what you're saying about fighting the algorithm autopilot but isn't it just... different packaging? Like I still end up buying the same boring stuff half the time, just takes me longer to pick it out.
