Can we discuss how algorithm dread misses the point?
These systems LEARN from us to improve, not to control.

But what are they actually improving for? My feed getting better at showing me doomscrolling content isn't a win for me. It's just the system figuring out my worst habits. The algorithm learned that rage keeps people glued to screens, so now every video is some crazy argument. That feels less like learning to help and more like learning to feed a problem for more clicks. So who's it really improving for?

My feed got so bad I had to block "debate" as a keyword. Joel_clark37 is right, they're improving for profit, not your peace. You have to actively prune your watch history or the algorithm just digs the same hole deeper.

Improving their bank accounts, not your feed.

Honestly the algorithm is just giving people what they already choose to watch, lol. If rage content gets clicks, that's because tons of people are clicking it and staying on it. The system isn't making you watch, it's showing you what you and others already proved you like. It's a mirror, not a monster. Maybe the problem isn't the feed showing our worst habits, but our own habits in the first place. Blaming the tool for how we use it is a cop out.
