Got flagged by my own gym's app for skipping leg day three times
Honestly, I go to FitZone in Portland and their app tracks how often you check into specific class types. Last month I skipped leg day three times in a row because my knees were hurting. The app sent a warning that said 'your attendance pattern may affect your membership perks.' It felt super invasive honestly. Like I get they want people to show up but I didn't sign up for a fitness algorithm judging my recovery choices. Has anyone else had a gym app call them out like this?

Ngl that's wild how they're basically grading your attendance like you're in high school. Did you ever figure out if they actually follow through on threatening to take away perks or is it just an empty scare tactic?

Used to think gyms were just trying to help but @susanb34 is spot on, it's creepy how much they track you. That attendance thing alone changed my whole view on these apps.

Girl I had the same thing happen at my old gym in Seattle. Their app flagged me for not doing enough cardio classes and I was like what is this Big Brother watching me sweat situation. I ended up just turning off the notifications for the app and checking in manually at the front desk instead. Real eye opener that these companies are tracking everything we do even when we're just trying to get fit. My knees were acting up too and I needed rest days not some algorithm telling me I'm slacking. Sometimes you gotta put your health first and just ignore those nagging alerts.
