Hit 0.0% on my YouTube recommended algorithm after 3 months of only watching instructional welding videos

I was trying to learn TIG welding on my own, and after only clicking on stuff about filler rods and gas flow, my feed completely zeroed out on cat videos and gaming streams, which felt kind of scary but also kind of freeing not being fed random stuff anymore has anyone else seen their algorithm reset like that?

You ever try just leaning into the blank feed instead of fighting it? I did something similar last year with woodworking tutorials and when my feed went totally clean I started searching for random stuff I actually wanted to learn like gardening and basic car maintenance. It took maybe two weeks but the algorithm slowly started showing me a mix of those new interests without the old garbage creeping back in. Honestly I found it kind of peaceful not having my brain filled with random junk every time I opened the app. The trick for me was staying consistent with what I actually wanted to see and not clicking on anything that would pull me back into old habits. Did you end up sticking with the welding videos or did the other stuff start leaking back in?

That zero point is wild. I hit it once after a month of nothing but engine teardown videos and it felt like I had broken out of a matrix. My feed went completely blank on everything else for a solid week before it slowly started mixing in some weird painting tutorials. I actually kind of miss that clean slate.

Hang on... a whole week of nothing but blank feed? That sounds like some kind of glitch, not a feature. I'd be panicking my account was broken.
