I let a streaming app autoplay me into a 2am doom spiral before I caught what was happening
Last Saturday I opened Netflix just to watch one comedy special and looked up 3 hours later deep in some true crime rabbit hole I never chose, and that's when it hit me the autoplay countdown was steering me the whole time. I turned off autoplay that night and now I actually pick what I watch, but it's weird how much I miss having the choice made for me. Has anyone else turned autoplay off and felt kind of lost without it?
That feeling of being lost makes sense because the app trained you to let it decide, and now you have to do that work yourself. Give it a week or two and picking shows turns back into a normal thing instead of a chore.
