Maps app routed me through a closed bridge last Tuesday
I was driving to a job site in Omaha and Google Maps sent me down a road with a barrier across it. Someone reported it weeks ago but the algorithm still pushed it as the fastest route. Has anyone else had an app fail this badly on basic road closures?

Crash my car into a barrier? No, but I HAVE gotten into a heated argument with my phone while sitting in my own driveway. Not my proudest moment. I told Google Maps it was a STUPID ROUTE and it just sat there glowing at me all smug and silent. So yeah, I feel your pain, but Dakota's right, pester them with reports until they finally listen.

Report it through the app's built in feedback too. Had a similar thing happen in Lincoln and it took three reports before they finally marked the road closed in the system.

Honestly I gotta push back a little here. You said someone reported it weeks ago but those reports go into a huge system with thousands of other reports and they have to verify stuff before they change the map. If Google just took every random report and instantly blocked a road you'd have people trolling and closing actual open roads all the time. Tbh last week I had a map tell me to go through a one way the wrong way in a construction zone and I just looked at my surroundings and turned around instead of trusting the phone blindly. Ngl the app is a tool not a brain and you still gotta use your own eyes when you're driving.
