My barber of 14 years moved shops and the booking app won't let me follow him
My barber Luis cut my hair at the same spot in Portland for 14 years, and last month the shop switched to an app for booking. The app only shows the shop, not the person, so when Luis moved 2 miles down the road, it just kept trying to give me whoever was free. I called the old shop and the guy said they can't share his info because of some policy, which felt cold for a guy I've known since I was 22. Luis texts me now whenever he wants a cut, but he's 58 and not really into apps, so half his old clients just vanished. I keep wondering how many people lost touch with someone they liked just because a booking system flattened everyone into slots. Has anyone tracked down a regular person through the business that replaced them?
That policy is cold and it costs real people their income. The shop knows Luis's number, so hiding behind "policy" is just lazy. If your old clients can't find you, you lose half your business overnight, and a 58 year old guy isn't gonna fight an app for them. Have you tried asking the front desk person in person instead of on the phone?
