My diet app's algorithm made me obsess over every bite
The constant calorie adjustments based on my activity feel INVASIVE and wrong. It's turned eating into a MATH problem instead of a natural thing. I deleted it last week and already feel LESS stressed.

Structure helps me, honestly.

Honestly, same here. I fall apart without a basic routine to follow. Tbh, it's not about being rigid, but having a framework stops my brain from overthinking every little choice. Ngl, when I have a clear plan for the day, I actually get stuff done instead of just staring at a list. Without that, I end up wasting hours on dumb stuff and feel terrible by night. It's like structure gives you guardrails so you don't just drift off the road. Yeah, it's pretty much essential for getting anything meaningful done.

But what happens when the structure itself feels like a cage? I found that if my routine gets too strict, it starts to backfire. It makes me rebel against my own plans for no good reason. There has to be some give in the system, a little room to breathe. Otherwise you just feel trapped by the very thing that's supposed to help. A loose frame is good, but a rigid one can break you.

True. I read a book once that called this the rubber band effect. Pull a routine too tight and it either snaps or leaves you feeling trapped.
