My friend said my dating profile looked like a robot wrote it

She pointed out my bio was just a list of generic hobbies the app probably pushes everyone to include. I cut the 'hiking, coffee, travel' stuff and wrote about actually getting lost in a corn maze once. Anyone else feel like the prompts try to make you sound the same?

Maybe @stone.lisa's friends are just really into reading professional summaries at parties. That advice would make my bio a long, rambling story about my cat. Then strangers would just get cat facts.

telling a story to a friend" feels like weird advice for a bio. Bios are for strangers, not your buddies. Keep it simple so people can just get the facts.
