My sister pointed out my Instagram feed was just showing me sad news

She said 'you keep sharing those depressing articles, but you never post about your garden anymore.' I went into my settings and turned off 'personalized content' for a week. Now I'm seeing way more hobby stuff and less doomscrolling, but is this just a different kind of bubble?

That's a really smart move. I used to think the algorithm was just showing me what I wanted, but it was feeding me stress. Breaking out of that loop feels way healthier, even if it's still a bubble.

Ever notice how the algorithm also hides the boring stuff you need to see? Like, it cuts out local news about a road closing or a simple recipe that works. You get fed drama and hot takes instead of plain useful info. It's not just a stress bubble, it's a useless one that leaves you unprepared for normal life.

Algorithms just keep us stuck in our own little worlds, right?
