Rant: My phone's map sent me to a closed road for a job in Springfield

I was driving to a new client's house in Springfield last Tuesday, and my phone's map told me to turn onto a side street to save eight minutes. I followed it, but the road was completely blocked by construction cones and a big 'local traffic only' sign. I had to backtrack for fifteen minutes, making me late. It felt like the app was guessing based on old data, not real conditions. Has anyone else had a map app fail them because it didn't know about a recent road change?

My own sense of direction is basically a magic eight ball.

Maps are FREE, what do you expect?

Ugh, tell me about it. My map did the same thing last month, sent me down a road that was just gone, like fresh pavement and new houses. Who programs these things?
