The weird trick that fixed my YouTube recommendations overnight

I was sick of my feed being nothing but drama channels and reaction videos, no matter how many times I hit 'not interested.' Last week I just started watching 10-minute tutorials on obscure topics like how to clean concrete with baking soda lol. Three days later my whole feed flipped to DIY and repair stuff, it actually worked. Has anyone else noticed the algorithm changing fast after binging a totally different niche?

Watch 5 videos on power tools and suddenly you're a contractor now.

You watched ten minutes of concrete cleaning videos and it actually worked? That's wild! I had to watch like two hours of woodworking content just to get rid of some annoying gaming channels. The algorithm must be getting way more sensitive lately, it's kind of scary how fast it flips your whole feed now.

Honestly it's just a video site, not some big deal. Ruby_jones has it right, you watch a few videos and the algorithm makes a guess. It's not that deep. People act like it's some scary mind control but it's just trying to keep you clicking. If you don't like the feed, watch something else and it changes. That's the whole point.
