Update: my GPS sent me down a dead end in Sedona and I finally started printing directions again
Two summers back I was heading to a trailhead outside Sedona and my phone told me to turn onto a road that ended at a locked gate. I sat there for 20 minutes while the app kept calmly saying "recalculating" like it had no idea it was wrong. Now I print a paper map before any trip where I might not have signal. Does anyone else keep a backup when they know the map app has failed them before?

Been there with a locked gate and no signal, that feeling stinks.
