Vent: I used to think my feed was just showing me what I wanted to see.

I saw my friend's phone and her feed was full of happy family trips, but mine only showed news about layoffs and climate disasters for a solid week. It hit me that the algorithm wasn't just reflecting my interests, it was actively shaping my whole mood and outlook. Has anyone else compared feeds with someone and been shocked by the totally different emotional tone?

Tell me about it. How does your friend even get a free vacation? That's the real story I want to hear. My feed is just bad news and people arguing. A free trip sounds like a fantasy. I need to know the secret, because this scrolling is getting old.

Check what your friend actually clicks on though. My guess is she searches for travel deals and follows those pages, so her feed is just giving that back to her. The algorithm really does just trap us in our own little bubbles.
