Rant: the 1999 Y2K prep binder I found in my dad's closet still scares me
I was going through his stuff in Portland last month and found this huge binder with 200 pages on how to survive without power, banks, or grocery stores. That thing had a hand-crank radio, water purification tablets, and a list of meeting points for our whole family. Who else grew up with relatives who thought January 1, 2000 was the end of the world, and how did that shape your view of tech today?
