Took me 3 hours to find a fake history fact I shared in 2017
Ngl I spent an entire evening digging through my old forum posts after someone called me out on a claim about the Great Emu War making it to parliament. It was wild realizing I'd been repeating something I heard from a random YouTube comment for 7 years without fact checking. Has anyone else ever found out they believed some alternate history nonsense for way too long?

Oh man thats me with the whole "Ben Franklin wanted the turkey as the national bird" thing. I was so sure about that for years and then I actually read his letter where he was just making a joke about eagles being scavengers. Its crazy how the internet just makes these things stick in your brain like velcro.
