I was driving back from a job site near Columbus last week and tuned into this alternate history podcast that claimed the Roman Empire fell because they didn't adopt gunpowder early enough. The host spent 45 minutes talking about how they could have conquered the world if they just figured out cannons around 200 AD. But here's the thing, I checked their sources and they completely ignored that Roman logistics couldn't handle that kind of supply chain, plus they had no real siege engines past the 4th century. I flagged three major historical inaccuracies just in the first segment about the Battle of Adrianople. Anyone else run into these alternate history shows that just make stuff up for clicks?
