Binged all of Attack on Titan skipping the OVAs. Big mistake.

Watched the whole show in like 3 weeks. Felt like something was missing. Talked to my buddy in Austin who's a huge fan. He asked if I saw the Jean and Levi OVAs. I said what OVAs? He sent me a link. Watched them last night and so much clicked into place. The backstory makes the main series hit way harder. Anyone else skip episodes or extras on their first watch and regret it?

Yeah that changed my mind too, I used to think OVAs were just filler but they actually fill in important gaps.

My buddy Mark was watching the Gundam Unicorn OVAs and kept complaining there was no context for why some characters were acting a certain way. Then he found out there were OVAs that explained the whole backstory of the Laplace incident. He spent a whole weekend binging them and said it was like missing puzzle pieces finally clicking into place. Now he won't shut up about how the OVAs are basically required viewing before the main series.
