Changed my mind about the 'best' way to watch anime
I always watched shows subbed, no question. Then I was scrolling through a thread here last month where someone said they only watch dubs while driving long distances, because they can't read the road and subtitles at the same time. That made a weird kind of sense to me. I gave it a shot with a show I'd already seen, 'Cowboy Bebop', on a trip from Denver to Salt Lake. Hearing the English voices while just listening, not staring at the screen, was a totally different vibe. The acting in that dub is actually pretty solid, and I caught a bunch of background details in the animation I'd missed before because I was glued to the text. I still prefer subs for most things, but I get the appeal now. It's not always about being a purist, sometimes it's just about the situation. Anyone else have a show they liked better in a language they didn't expect?

Ever try a dub for chores too?

Totally, I'll put on a fast-paced playlist for cleaning. What kind of music do you use? I find that upbeat electronic stuff makes folding laundry way less boring.

My friend @jennifer833 got me into listening to old radio dramas while I do the dishes, it's like a story and a chore at once. Have you ever tried something like that?
