Dub vs sub debate: which side actually watches the show?
I noticed something after 3 years of watching anime. The people who scream "sub only" usually skip openings and endings. And the dub crowd? They seem to rewatch episodes more. Is one side just more casual than the other, or am I reading too much into this? What's your take?

Nailed it honestly. The whole skipping intros thing is a dead giveaway that someone's just trying to blow through episodes instead of actually taking them in. I catch myself doing it too when I'm binging subs late at night. Dubs force you to sit there and watch because you can't just look at your phone while listening. Cowboy Bebop's opening is iconic but sub watchers skip it way more than dub watchers. Kinda funny how the "superior" viewing method actually makes people less engaged with the whole show.

Actually got me rethinking my whole stance tbh. I used to be one of those sub purists who thought dubs were for people who didn't really care about the story. But then I noticed my dub-watching friends always have more detailed conversations about the episodes while I'm just like "yeah it was good" and moving on. Skipping openings and endings definitely became a habit when I was trying to cram as many subbed episodes as possible. Maybe the slower pace of dubs lets people actually sit with the material instead of rushing to the next thing.
