Found the trick to skipping filler arcs without missing story beats

I got tired of checking online guides before every episode. So I tried something simple: I watch the first and last 5 minutes of a filler episode. If nothing important happens to the main characters, I skip the whole thing. Saved me about 3 hours last week on One Piece alone. Has anyone else tried a method like this for long running shows?

Yeah that makes sense honestly. I feel like we do this in real life too, skim through the boring parts to get to what matters. Maybe it's just me but I catch myself doing the same thing with long YouTube videos now, skipping ahead to see if anything actually changes before I commit.

See I kinda disagree with that though. You skip ahead and you might miss the buildup that made the payoff worth it in the first place, like eating the frosting off a cake before you actually taste the rest of it. A lot of times the boring parts are what teach you to appreciate the good stuff, you know?

23 minutes? That's like a whole Netflix episode you're skipping through. I can't even commit to skipping a 30 second ad half the time (mostly because I forget where the slider is). You're living in the future or something man.
