Got roasted for my 'top 10 anime' list on a Discord server lol
Someone said my picks were all just the most popular shows from the last five years and I was missing the classics that shaped the medium. I swapped out a few newer ones for stuff like 'Neon Genesis Evangelion' and 'Cowboy Bebop' to get more variety. What's one older series you think every fan should watch at least once?

Legends of the Galactic Heroes is the one. It's this massive space opera with two geniuses leading opposite sides. The politics and strategy are crazy deep, and it makes you question who the real hero is. The old art style takes a minute to get used to, but the story is totally worth it.

Got to push back a bit on it being "dry." Yeah, it's a slow burn, but the payoff when those supply line talks turn into a full fleet battle is huge. It's like watching a chess game where the pieces are spaceships.

Okay but come on, it's a cartoon about space politics. I watched a few episodes because of the hype and it's just guys in rooms talking about supply lines for 20 minutes. The big draw is two smart guys thinking really hard, but it feels like homework. I respect its place in history, but "must watch" is a big stretch for something that dry.

So did you actually watch past the first few episodes or just decide it was dry from the start?
