Hit 1,000 anime episodes logged on MAL and it felt like a weird flex

I just crossed that number after binging mostly slice of life shows from the 2000s, and I didn't expect it to hit me as a milestone. Has anyone else tracked their count and felt surprised by what it says about your taste?

Did you ever look back at your list and realize you watched way more of one genre than you thought? I had this moment when I hit around 800 episodes and found out like half of them were just magical girl shows from the 90s. It's funny how you think you have a broad taste until the numbers stare you in the face.

Wow, 800 episodes? I'm honestly kind of stunned you kept track that long. I lose count around 50 and just guess after that. "Half of them were just magical girl shows from the 90s" - that is wild to me. I don't think I've even seen 400 episodes total of anything in my life, let alone from one genre. How did you not notice sooner that you were deep in a pink sparkly hole? Was it like a slow slide or did you just wake up one day and realize you'd watched Sailor Moon twelve times? I admire the dedication but also I'm a little scared of your spreadsheet.
