I think people are way too hard on the filler arcs in long running anime
Everyone always complains about the Naruto filler episodes being a waste of time, but I actually liked some of them. The arc about the Three-Tailed Beast in episode 89 gave us way more backstory on how tailed beasts work, which the manga just glossed over. I get that it slows down the plot, but for a plumber like me who only catches an episode here and there between jobs, those extra details make the world feel lived in. Anyone else find themselves liking a filler arc that everyone else trashes?

The old lady controlling the beast" scene hit me hard too, really shifted how I saw them.

Wait wait wait, you're a plumber who watches Naruto filler between jobs? That's actually kind of awesome lol. But seriously, the Three-Tailed Beast arc is the one I see people hating on the most because it doesn't involve the main characters fighting. I liked it too though, especially how it showed the tailed beasts aren't just mindless monsters. That one episode where that old lady tries to control the beast gave me chills.

Episode 89 is exactly where I stopped skipping intros and started paying real attention. I remember sitting there with a pipe wrench in my hand, half watching, and then that old lady scene came on and I just put the tool down. Everyone says filler is just padding, but that whole arc gave the tailed beasts more personality than the main story ever did. The manga makes them feel like weapons, but the anime showed they have feelings and histories too. If that makes me wrong for liking it, I guess I'm wrong.
