I used to skip the opening credits on every anime I watched

For years I'd hit the skip button the second the first note played, thinking it was just wasted time. Then last month I watched 'Vinland Saga' and let the first opening run by accident. The song 'Mukanjyo' by Survive Said The Prophet hit me so hard I actually replayed it three times. Now I watch every opening at least once to see if the music and visuals match the show's vibe. Anyone else find a show where the opening totally changed your view of it?

What other openings hit you like that?

Totally get that. My old habit of skipping intros was basically a personal attack on good music.

Honestly, skipping is still the move most of the time. A lot of openings are just generic rock songs with spoiler-filled visuals. I tried watching them for a while and it felt like a chore, like waiting for a youtube ad to finish. My time is limited and I'd rather get to the actual story. That one great opening is the rare exception, not the rule.
