My cousin said something about filler arcs that actually made sense

We were talking about One Piece last weekend, and he said, 'The filler isn't the problem, it's how you watch it. Skip the bad ones, but some arcs give the main story room to breathe.' I always just skipped all filler without thinking. He mentioned the G-8 arc specifically, which I'd never seen. I watched it after our talk, and he was right. It felt like a fun side story that actually fit the crew's vibe. Has anyone else found a filler arc they ended up liking?

Honestly I'm still a hard skip on all filler. Tbh even the "good" ones just feel like waiting for the real story to come back.

The G-8 arc is exactly why I changed my mind. It's like seven episodes of the crew just being themselves without a world ending threat. That kind of filler adds to the characters instead of taking away from them. I mean, skipping all of it just to save time feels like you're treating the show like a checklist. You miss the small moments that make the big fights matter later. Maybe it's just me but I'd rather watch a few bad episodes than risk skipping a good one.

Your cousin has a point. Some filler is just a fun detour. @jade517 I get the hard skip, but I'd miss stuff like the early Naruto curry of life arc. It's pure character fluff that just works. Skipping everything means you might miss a few gems mixed in with the bad.
