Overheard a debate about dub vs sub at a gas station and it stuck with me

So I'm fueling up my rig at a Pilot in Ohio last Wednesday and these two guys near the soda machine are going HARD about whether 'Cowboy Bebop' works better dubbed or subbed. One guy swore the English voice actor for Spike nailed the cool factor, the other guy said you lose all the original emotion. I never really thought about it before because I just watch whatever version pops up first. But now I'm curious - do you guys pick one version and stick with it forever, or do you switch it up per show?

Totally depends on the show for me... some just hit different dubbed.

Ha, you're right @mary_west, some shows just work better dubbed no matter what anyone says. It's like how some movies you gotta watch with the lights off and a big screen, but others are fine on your phone during lunch. The whole vibe of the thing changes what feels right. It's like how you can't just say all pizza is the same, you know? Different moods, different needs.

Try the first episode both ways, then stick with whatever feels right for that show.
