Spent $140 on a Crunchyroll premium year subscription and still get ads

I figured paying upfront for the whole year would get me ad-free access to everything, but some shows still have those unskippable 30-second promos. Has anyone else run into this or did I just pick the wrong tier?

Yeah that's not a billing issue, it's just Crunchyroll being Crunchyroll. The "premium" tier gets you no ads on the main catalog, but some shows licensed from other distributors still have those forced promos for their own stuff. It's basically a loophole they're abusing. You didn't pick the wrong tier, the service just isn't as clean as they advertise. Kinda annoying for $140 a year honestly.

@tara642 is 100% right, this exact thing kept happening to me on the mobile app until I cleared cache and logged back in. Also worth checking if you have any "special offers" or free trial stuff activated in your account settings, because those sometimes override the no-ads promise. Crunchyroll really needs to fix this loophole since it's clearly against what they advertise.
