Spent 6 months arguing about filler arcs before I realized the real problem
I was in a debate group online about Naruto Shippuden filler arcs. We went back and forth for half a year about which episodes to skip. Turns out nobody was actually watching the same version. Some folks had the Crunchyroll cut, others had the old Toonami dubs, and a few used fan edits from 2012. That mismatch made our whole argument pointless. Has anyone else had a big argument fall apart because of something dumb like different releases?

Wait hold on, they had fan edits from 2012 and nobody said anything for six months?

Six months of silence just proves nobody was actually watching that closely back then.

Man, that's exactly the point. People act like internet lore gets solved in real time, but most of it sits in some forgotten corner until someone stumbles on it years later. I remember when that creepypasta about the Pokemon cartridge showed up, nobody dug into it for almost a year until some random blogger decided to fact check it. The timeline on stuff like this is always way slower than people expect.

Wait, @charles_mitchell, do you remember what that blogger actually found when they fact checked it? I'm curious if it was just some kid messing around or if there was a real story behind it, because half the time these things turn out to be way simpler than people want to believe. I've been down enough rabbit holes where the big mystery was just a bored teenager with too much time on their hands, and it's always a little disappointing when that's the case.
