Started rewatching Hunter x Hunter last month and realized I missed so much the first time

I binged it 3 years ago in college but now I'm picking up on all the nen stuff way better. Anyone else get way more out of a rewatch years later?

I binged it in a weekend a few years ago and honestly I don't remember half the nen stuff people get worked up about. Seems like overthinking a shonen battle show to me. Most of the fights are just rock paper scissors once you strip away the fancy names. The Chimera Ant arc dragged on way too long for all the deep meaning people try to find in it. Sometimes a show is just a show and you don't need to analyze every little detail.

Take that rock paper scissors idea and run with it, because that's literally how most anime fights work when you boil them down. The deep fans just dress it up with complicated names so it sounds smarter than it is.
