That week my anime club almost fell apart over a filler arc
Last month, our club in Austin was watching a popular shonen series, and everyone kept saying the filler episodes were pointless. I actually liked them because they showed the side characters getting more screen time. Things got heated when I said this during our Thursday meeting, and two members almost quit over the argument. It was a rough few days until we agreed to just skip fillers for group watches. Has your group ever split over something that seems small?

Our club in Dallas had the same fight over the Naruto fillers.

My old book club in Phoenix fell apart over whether to read the sequel to a popular novel, so I get it. Gibson.avery is right, these small fights happen everywhere, not just anime. It's weird how groups can split over tiny choices that feel huge in the moment. People just dig in on their side of something simple and forget the whole point is hanging out.

Wait, your book club broke up over a sequel? That's next level. I've seen groups fight over picking the book in the first place, but ending it over what to read next is wild. The commitment to the argument is almost impressive.
