The DVD extra that changed how I watch fight scenes

I was rewatching an old Blu-ray of a 90s martial arts film and clicked on the commentary track. The director mentioned they sped up the camera 15 percent during strikes to make them look faster, and now I can't unsee it in every action anime I watch since. Anyone else find production facts that ruined or improved how they view animation?

The trick with watching animation is to look at the background details instead of the action. If the dust or leaves move at a weird speed, that's the cheat code. Once you spot it, you can actually enjoy the craft more because you see HOW they make it feel punchy. Also check the sound design. The whoosh noises are usually added in post to sell the speed, so if you mute it, the fight slows WAY down in your brain. It's like a magic trick. Once you know the secret, you watch for the skill, not the illusion.
