Went to a small anime convention in Des Moines last weekend and counted 47 people dressed as Goku

I swear half the cosplayers there just picked the easiest option so they could skip the sewing and spend more time arguing about Dragon Ball power levels in the lobby.

And it's not just conventions it's everything honestly. People will ALWAYS pick the shortcut if it gets them to the talky part faster. I see it at the gym too where guys just hit the same three machines and then spend forty minutes debating which protein powder is best. Nobody wants to actually DO the work they just want to look like they belong to the group. That Goku costume is basically the cosplay version of wearing a band t-shirt to a concert. You show up, people know what you're about, and you can jump straight into the arguments without any of the craft fair stuff. It's like everyone forgot that half the fun is the making of it not just the standing around in it.

@dakotab93 I just glued my fingers together with hot glue trying to make armor. Worth it though.
