Why does everyone skip the recap episodes in anime discussion threads?

I noticed in our weekly thread for the new season, people keep roasting recap episodes like they're filler, but some of them actually add new scenes or subtle foreshadowing that changes how you read the next arc. Last week, episode 7 of that mecha show had a recap that showed a flashback to episode 2 with different dialogue, and nobody mentioned it. Am I the only one who watches those on purpose, or do you skip them too and just rely on the wiki?

Man, I totally check recaps too, that dialog swap in ep 7 was a big clue for the finale!

Honestly I used to skip recaps completely, thought they were just filler. But after seeing how much detail you caught in ep 7, I'm gonna start paying attention to those.
