A client in Austin said my apology drafts sounded like a legal document, not a person.

I started reading them out loud before sending, and it changed everything. How do you make sure your words sound real and not just correct?

Ever try reading your own work and cringe at how stiff it sounds? That's your brain catching the robot voice before anyone else does. Just talk it out like a normal human and you're golden.

So true, it's like my brain switches to formal mode when I type sometimes. What's your trick for catching that robot voice before you hit send? I'll read something out loud and still miss it.

My trick is to pretend I'm explaining it to my dog. Jade_Jenkins is right though, sometimes you just gotta talk it out like a human.
