Finally picked the farm visit over the beach trip

Last month I had to choose between driving 2 hours to see my uncle's new farm or going to the beach with friends. I picked the farm because he's getting older and I kept putting it off. We ended up fixing a fence together and he showed me this old well he dug in 1989. Has anyone else had to make a hard choice between family and fun and actually felt good about it after?

Choosing the farm visit paid off way more than any beach day could.

Is a farm visit really that much better than a beach day though? I mean, beaches are pretty great for just zoning out and not having to do anything. Seems like a lot of work for a marginally different view.
