I wrote an apology letter to my old boss in Portland, then burned it.

I was still mad about a project that went wrong five years ago, so I wrote a long letter explaining my side. Instead of sending it, I took it to my fire pit and watched it burn. It felt silly, but the next day, I didn't feel angry anymore. Has anyone else tried something physical like that to let go of an old apology?

Ever try writing a new letter with what you learned since?

What you learned since could totally change the opening line.

That Hemingway rewrite advice.

Honestly that rewrite advice never clicked for me. Feels like polishing a car you already decided to drive. The messy first draft has its own energy that gets lost if you overthink it.
