I wrote an apology to my high school art teacher and never sent it

I found an old sketchbook from 10th grade and saw a mean note I'd scribbled about her class being boring. I wrote a whole letter saying sorry, but then I realized I was just trying to feel better about being a dumb kid. Has anyone else found an old note that made you cringe?

Ever just burn the note? That's what I did.

My cousin did that once and the smoke alarm went off for an hour. Honestly, burning just turns the paper into ash you still have to clean up. Tbh, ripping it into tiny pieces feels way more final to me.

Man, burning stuff never works out. Tried to burn some old love letters in a metal trash can. Whole backyard smelled like a campfire for two days. My neighbor came over to check for a real fire. Now I just drop that kind of paper in a public trash can downtown. Feels more gone that way.
