My apology to my mom about her cooking took 30 years

I spent my whole teenage years rolling my eyes at my mom's meatloaf. Told her it was dry and boring. She never said a word, just kept making it for family dinners. Then I moved out and tried to cook a meatloaf myself last month. Mine came out like a hockey puck. Suddenly I realized she was feeding a family of five on a tight budget and still made dinner every single night. I should have thanked her instead of complaining. Has anyone else had a food regret that hit them way later in life?

I mean, she kept making the same dry meatloaf for 30 years without changing the recipe. Sounds like she knew it was bad and didn't care to fix it.

Ugh, I feel this so hard lmao. My grandmother made this bone-dry pork chop recipe for like 40 years and everyone just choked it down with a gallon of applesauce. It's wild how some people just refuse to learn or change a thing even when everyone around them is suffering through it. I honestly think it's a control thing, like they'd rather serve something bad than admit they were wrong.

My aunt did the same thing with her lasagna for 25 years, and it was always a soupy mess that fell apart on the plate. She finally admitted last Thanksgiving that she just liked having everyone talk about it every year.
