My old neighbor Ray passed in March and I found out he kept every letter I never sent him
So I have this box of apology letters I wrote to my old neighbor Ray over the years but never dropped off, mostly dumb stuff like the time my dog wrecked his petunias back in 2011 and I was too embarrassed to fess up. Ray's daughter cleaned out his house on Claremont Street after he passed in March and she called me because she found a folder in his desk with my name on it. Turns out he had 9 of my letters, all opened, all dated, and a few of them had little notes in the margins like 'no worries kid.' I never mailed a single one so I still have no clue how they got to him, maybe I left them in his mailbox half asleep years ago. Been sitting with that info for 3 weeks now and I keep writing a fresh letter every night and ripping it up. Has anyone here ever found out the person you owed an apology to already knew the whole time?
