The cashier in Omaha caught my mom's name on the card and I froze
I've been carrying an unsent letter to my mom in my glove box for 11 months because every time I try to write it I get stuck on the opening line. A cashier at a Hy-Vee in Omaha asked if I was Carol's kid and I lied and said no, which is the whole problem with me lately. So the trick that worked: I wrote the letter to her sister instead, and it all came out, 3 pages. Now I don't know if I should mail the aunt's version to my mom or keep both letters buried, has anyone done the sideways route like this?
