Honestly, if you're not testing the door latch on every dishwasher repair, you're gonna have callbacks for no reason.

Industry repair records show door latch problems are rare. Checking it on every job can waste time without preventing many callbacks. Callbacks usually come from missing the main issue, not skipping the latch test.

When I faced this, I found that a quick latch check actually saved me time in the long run. It caught a few problems early that would have caused callbacks and wasted more time later. How do you balance thoroughness with efficiency on your jobs?

Guess we should all just hope for the best then. A quick look can catch those rare problems before they cause trouble. But wasting time is clearly the bigger sin here.

Check the latch, it takes two seconds. Better than a callback later.
