My uncle told me to always check the drain pump filter first on a front loader that won't drain.
He said it's the most common fix and he was right, saved me an hour of testing parts on a Samsung last week. What's your go-to first check for a no-drain error?

Your uncle is a smart guy, that drain pump filter is always clogged with something nasty. My first move is actually just listening for the pump hum. If I hear it trying, I go straight to checking for a clog like he said. If it's silent, I'm probably looking at a bad pump or a messed up lid switch. I've wasted plenty of time overthinking it when the answer was just a sock stuck in the hose.
