Totally get that. In my experience, you gotta SHOW them how hands-on skills save money in the long run. Keep track of repeat jobs and point out the pattern, because certificates don't mean much if the work isn't done right.

My old boss at the auto shop finally listened after I showed him three months of repeat brake jobs from the new certified guy.
