Saw a washing machine door hinge fail on a Samsung last Tuesday

I was at a house in the suburbs replacing a control board on a Samsung washer. The customer mentioned the door felt loose, and when I tested it, the hinge just snapped right off. I ended up ordering a $22 hinge kit on Amazon and installed it in about 20 minutes. Has anyone found a way to reinforce these hinges before they break?

What kind of plastic did that hinge look like?

That hinge part looked like nylon or maybe acetal (delrin) to me. Man, I hate it when those little things snap on you, totally feel your pain there.

@ryan_barnes I think it was acetal, but the real issue is those little parts are often molded in a way that leaves micro-cracks you can't even see. Your mileage may vary, but I've had better luck finding a metal replacement bracket or just annealing the new one in hot water before installing.
